Art Madrid'24 – José Luis Ceña

José Luis Ceña

Málaga, 1982

José Luis Ceña was born in Malaga in 1982. At the age of 15 he moved to Madrid, the city where he graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid in the specialty of Plastic Arts in 2005. In 2001 he received a scholarship from the Royal Mint for further studies in the disciplines of Engraving and Graphic Design. Training in these fields allows you to investigate resources and tools that, although alien to traditional painting, incorporate into your creative process and endow your work with a special plasticity.

He works with different galleries both in Europe and in the US. Where last 2019 he held his last solo exhibition in the city of San Francisco.London, Madrid, Lisbon, Basel or Los Angeles are some of the art fairs where his work has been seen. Not in vain his work has been exhibited in important national and international museums such as the Hoki in Japan, the Wetland Museum in Hangzhou in China, Wasau Museum in Wisconsin or the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona where several paintings are part of its permanent collection."
