Rui Tavares has a degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Since 2010, he teaches at the NextArt Artistic Education Center in Lisbon. He has been exhibiting individually since 2003 and his work is represented in several collections. Rui Tavares' painting stands out for the use of a convulsive abstract language, as opposed to the ordered and harmonious plastic form, composed of elements derived from planes, walls or fragments.
