Art Madrid'24 – Yongrae Kwon

Yongrae Kwon

Seúl, 1964

I majored in art at Seoul National University and Seoul National University Graduate School. Artist Kwon Yong-rae's The Eternal Flame means that cold stainless steel and light meet to create a shape of a hot flame. His artwork is not only completed in the canvas. When light meets each stainless steel, the light reflected by the stainless steel unit and the shadows created by the light affect the canvas and the surrounding walls, making the entire booth feel like a work. Recognizing the existence of light, he draws a screen with light. Fill the screen with reflected light. The illusion created by light was captured as the theme of painting.
