Art Madrid'24 – Ana Margarita Ramírez

Ana Margarita Ramírez

Caracas, (Venezuela), 1974

The work of the Venezuelan artist based in Madrid has concentrated in recent years on weaving with threads of paint. Ana Margarita Ramirez has found her essence unconsciously. Weaving has been her starting point to discover an infinite world, becoming the expansive centre that has helped her to develop a multiplicity of languages and forms of expression. Weaving the threads of life from the inside out, showing its essence. Through these weavings emerges his work REGISTROS; a series of works with a life of their own that he produces from the fragments of paint that fall on the ground over time. In the same way as well as the support of the fabrics, everything I have recycled become works of art. It is giving life to everything around me. All my surroundings have had a meaning, a past, a trace today, a history that I project in my works. As a continuation, my latest works are integrated in a series titled SELVA, an imagined world that fills me with peace, and calm and leads me to connect with the root that holds me firm, the one I need as an immigrant.
