Art Madrid'24 – Bosco Sodi

Bosco Sodi

México D.F. (México), 1970

Bosco Sodi focuses on the exploration of matter, the creative gesture and the spiritual connection between the artist and his work. Using different materials characterized by its rawness - pigments, sawdust, wood, natural fibres and resins - Sodi creates large-format paintings rich in texture. His practice has also evolved into the field of sculpture in which he works with volcanic stones, ceramics, clay and gold, resulting in the production of pieces with an anachronistic aesthetic. The artistic practice of Sodi exploits the areas in which nature and humanity combine and seek the beauty inherent in the uncontrollable. In his work reigns a high sense of connection with the earth and the immediacy of the work of art. As raw materials vary from place to place, each of Sodi's pieces is uniquely related to the site in which it was created.
