Art Madrid'24 – Cristina Ferrández

Cristina Ferrández

Alicante, 1974

Cristina Ferrández works in the area of artistic creation as a critical and reflexive process. She reviews and raises questions about our condition of inhabiting the landscape, and developing visual projects that value the territory. From different geographies and societies: Palestine, Patagonia, Atlantic and Mediterranean geographies... She investigates the human, socioeconomic and environmental relationships that mark the evolution of landscapes. Cristina's multidisciplinary work takes dissimilar formats at the service of the development of each project. Through the study of the territory, Ferrández explores issues of gender, ecology, science, anthropology, sociology and human geography, through which she shows her personal zeitgeist and her commitment to the times she has lived in. Addressing issues ranging from the denaturalization of human life, the anthropization of nature, the division of the world and its resources, the post-industrial and geopolitical future, energy and the enhancement of unsullied geographies, his concept transcends implication to a collective consciousness on a global scale that involves the construction of a new position towards life in its entirety on the planet.
