Art Madrid'24 – Fabio Colella

Fabio Colella

Lecce, 1974

Fabio Colella is an Italian painter, who has recently settled in our country. At a certain moment, influenced by personal experiences, he went from figuration to abstraction, entering the trend of action painting, with great influences from Tachism, that pictorial style that developed in France during the 1940s and 1950s and that would be the European equivalent to North American Abstract Expressionism.

In the evolution of his work there is a recovery of the taste for painting-painting, for an absent conception of figuration and experimenting with fields of color, a bright, cheerful, Mediterranean color, like the colors that his native Lecce evokes. The tendency of Fabio's work lies in the use of color, in the structure of the stain and in the pictorial composition of the work.
