My discovery of abstract painting was abrupt, and seemingly random. An immediate connection was formed, the use of pigment applied to a surface has been a practice used and enjoyed for thousands of years. My method of painting is based on spontaneity and instinct, application of marks and large forms of color not congruent with deep or profound meaning. The goal of every painting is to invoke a response, I never intend for them to sit quietly on a wall going unnoticed.
