Iria do Castelo has trained in the Picasso School specialising in Sculpture and the CIEC Foundation (International Center of Contemporary Print) in A Coruña. She has obtained different scholarships to explore the possibilities of contemporary graphics at CIEC Foundation. She has been selected by Antonio López to participate in the III Extraordinary Chair City of Albacete, a workshop taught by the artist. Her approach to the field of public works has left numerous sculptural projects in different parts of Galician geography (A Coruña, Laxe, Vimianzo, Cesuras, Corrubedo, Arteixo …)

In recent years she has participated in numerous exhibition projects, several solo ones and groups in A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Oviedo, Salamanca, Mexico City, Porto, New York, Rome… Iria’s work includes sculpture, illustration, graphic work and installation. It is a surrealist figuration that powerfully evokes fairy books, magical bestiaries and old prints from another time.
