Javier Chapa studied Fine Arts at the School of Arts in Valencia, at New York University and at the Pratt Graphic Center. He has exhibited his work in solo exhibitions in Spain, the United States and France and collectively in Spain, the United States, Venezuela, Austria, former Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Mexico, Guatemala, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Taiwan and France. He was selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to represent Spain at the 1990 Cairo Biennial.
