Katja Davar is an artist working at the intersection of drawing and animation. Trained as a painter, drawing is the undeniable core of Davar’s practice though she regularly expands the field of drawing into other dimensions most often through drawing projections and animated films. Her subtle and poetic practice encompass large scale paper and textile works and immersive installations composed of signs borrowed from literature, politics, geology and science. Davar builds worlds reflecting her ongoing focus on the relationship between new technologies, nature and society.
