Art Madrid'24 – Nuno Horta

Nuno Horta

Mirandela, Braganca, (Portugal), 1977

I believe that Nuno Horta's work involves a fascination for the human figure, especially for the face as a promontory of identity, an absolute space of strength and vulnerability. On certain occasions, the fascination imposes almost a heroism, as if the figure were praised beyond nature, acquiring a fanciful complexity, something of heroic impetus, as in a superhuman call to perfection, to perfect beauty, to powerful mystery, to untouchable charisma.
