Art Madrid'24 – Ricardo Escavy

Ricardo Escavy

Murcia, 1979

Ricardo Escavy holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of San Carlos in Valencia and was awarded a scholarship by the same faculty to study at the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Superiores de Artes Plásticas Armando Reverón in Caracas, Venezuela. His work focuses on the perceptive relationship between the plastic and the musical, given the broad spectrum of similarities that exist between the two languages. The different graphic elements that make up his work and their behaviour in the plastic environment are understood as if they were sound stimuli, where rhythm, tone and space generate a sensation of temporality in order to lead the spectator towards a sonorous vision of the work.

It should be noted that in 2008 he was selected by the Ministry of Culture for the project Ideas y Propuestas para el Arte en España (Ideas and Proposals for Art in Spain) and thus became part of its stand at ARCO 2008 and of the collection of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid. He has held numerous exhibitions, both as a group and individually since 2001, and his last two solo exhibitions were held last year at SHIRAS Gallery in Valencia and Artifact Gallery in New York. In addition, he is currently exhibiting his latest work at the Centro Párraga (Murcia).
