Art Madrid'24 – Venske & Spänle

Venske & Spänle

Alemania, 1969

Julia Venske and Gregor Spänle form a duo of sculptor artists recognized by the Smörfs (Valencia) of sculptures made of marble capable of transmitting movement and life. They manage to break with the hardness of the marble to turn it into an easily malleable material that adopts light forms to which they seem to provide movement, giving a feeling of lightness and fluidity. In addition to the Smörfs they create the Gumpfoten and Helotrophs. Venske and Spänle have held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany, Spain, the United States and Denmark.
