Our ethos is consistent: promote this generation of artists from the African continent, nurture talent & surprise collectors. ODA is situated in the center of Franschhoek, the gourmet, wine and art capital of South Africa’s Cape Winelands district. ODA, fine art opened in 2011, predominantly focusing on contemporary artists from the greater Cape Town metropolitan area. Over the years the ‘curatorial curiosity’ expanded beyond the borders of South Africa. An exciting exhibition schedule mirrors this development, showcasing fine art from across the African continent.The gallery focuses on emerging artists that are strongly rooted in their rich African heritage, yet challenge preformed ideas about contemporary African art. They are part of a “next” generation Africa, developing a unique 21st century visual language for the continent. The ART Madrid exhibition showcases works by artists from South Africa (Samson Mnisi & Layziehound Coka], Silas Adelanke Adeoye (Nigeria) and Jean-Baptiste Djeka (Ivory Coast).
