João Noutel, post-graduation in design and printing techniques at faculdade de belas artes of University of Porto, is one of the artists of the anamnesis project, international digital platform of contemporary Portuguese Art. He is represented in several private collections in Portugal, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Dubai, USA, Greece and India, exhibiting regularly since 2002. He tries to deconstruct through a clean and rigorous language, with a strong visual impact, possible limits of the graphics power of the painting. He received the Abel Manta Painting Prize in 2015. He has participated in several solo exhibitions with “Dare you” with the Apart Gallery, Oporto (2017), or “Legend” with JR Gallery, Berlin (2016) and group exhibitions with Art Lounge. His artworks are in many collections, including the Abel Manta Museum of Modern Art or the António Prates Foundation.
His work has recently been highlighted in publications such as Visão, ArtReview (UK), Attitude, TimeOut Lisboa), ARTE Por Excelencias / Latino American, Egoísta; ARTE.ES Contemporary Art Magazine (Madrid), Turbilhão Magazine (2018). Noutel received the Abel Manta Painting Prize 2015. He is one of the invited artists of the exhibition variations portugaise about the contemporary portuguese art in centre d'art contemporaine meymac in France.
