Art Madrid'26 – Mathieu Lucas

Mathieu Lucas

Francia, 1985

Mathieu Lucas is a multidisciplinary visual artist originally from Nantes and based in Montpellier for the past decade. Trained in graphic arts and deeply influenced by urban culture, he has developed a unique visual language where sculpture, painting, installation, and visual storytelling converge. His work establishes a subtle synthesis between these media, oscillating between miniature realism and conceptual poetry. Through volumetric creations and meticulously staged compositions, Mathieu Lucas explores the complexity of the contemporary world with an aesthetic that is both raw and refined. His visual universe is defined by the contrast between the fragility of his miniaturized compositions and the strength of the themes he addresses. The precision of his works, often made with reclaimed materials, reveals a constant attention to materiality, transformation, and the symbolic value of the objects he uses.
