about Jaime Sancorlo

Madrid, 1980

Jaime Sancorlo holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw on an Erasmus scholarship. In recent years this artist from Madrid has been working on his project "War Affairs". To carry it out, he is inspired by images found mainly in photographic archives from the First and Second World Wars. The characters he portrays, usually in oil on canvas, belong to difficult times, who live immersed in war situations or in the military sphere. They are the protagonists of a world of adults reproduced in black and white who, nevertheless, connect with a forgotten childhood through playful elements charged with meaning, which he paints in this case in colour. Jaime Sancorlo has had solo exhibitions in Warsaw (Turbo Gallery), in Paris (ALB Gallery) and at fairs such as Galeristes and Art Paris. His work forms part of collections such as MUSARCO and the Museo de la Plata de Hiendelaencina (Guadalajara). He is currently a member of Inéditad Galería (Barcelona), with whom he is participating in the 17th edition of Art Madrid.
