Art Madrid'24 – Jugo Kurihara – Sin título 3 (2017)
about Jugo Kurihara
Tokio (Japón),
Jugo Kurihara is a Japanese artist based in the Hakone mountains. He studied at the College of Fine Art at Tokyo University although his training has been self-taught and influenced by his father, the plastic artist Tadashi Kurihara. Jugo’s work revolves around an apparent abstraction, which evokes connected worlds between the micro and the macro. The final result is easily recognizable by the use of a primitive and cosmic iconography that takes us to the origin of the universe.
His most used technique is Japanese ink on glossy paper. He has participated in many Art Fairs such as Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, New Delhi, Peru, Barcelona and regularly participates in international residences.
