Art Madrid'26 – Camil Giralt

Camil Giralt
Barcelona, 1965
Painting has been part of his life since youth, but he also studied classical music and piano, completed a degree in telecommunications engineering, and earned an MBA, which formed the basis of his earlier professional career before dedicating himself exclusively to painting, his true passion.
Camil Giralt’s work revolves around the search for inner balance, referencing concepts such as calm, silence, and distance. These are paintings with few elements and a limited color range, aiming to simplify their content. The search for balance is expressed through the relationship established between color and form—a dialogue between presence and absence, movement and stillness, structure and emotion. The compositions do not seek visual impact; they are emotional landscapes to be explored unhurriedly, an invitation to look beyond the surface and into ourselves.
He develops several series that are different approaches to the same theme, usually working with acrylic paint or ink. For his ink works, he has created a technique using ink over a material base of quartz powder, allowing him to work with ink on canvas and achieve color quality, transparency, and texture similar to those obtained on paper.
