Art Madrid'26 – Agustín Serisuelo

Agustín Serisuelo

Betxi, 1981

Agustín Serisuelo, who holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s in Artistic Production from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, is a multidisciplinary artist with an intimate language that reflects on the ontological questioning of the digital photographic image through sculptural processes. He works with direct printing on rigid materials, allowing the image to be understood as a constructive element. In doing so, he contrasts the current dynamics of the image—its dematerialization and virtual hyper-visuality—while also questioning its internal structures (support, stretcher, and frame).

Serisuelo has developed an interesting trajectory, standing out for his extensive participation at the Centro Cultural del Carmen in Valencia, as well as in various institutions in Madrid, Alicante, Gijón, and Castellón, among many others. It is also important to note that he has been the recipient of several grants and residencies, including the Hàbitat Artístic Grant with a residency at the Rectoría Art Center in Barcelona, the Cultura Residente Research Grant from the Consorcio de Museos de Valencia, the Study Improvement Grant from the Dávalos Fletcher Foundation, and a residency at Berlin Art Institute in Germany, among others.
