Online art show "TRICK MIRRORS"
The recent work of Ubay Murillo suggests a review of some of the most emblematic artistic movements of the beginning of the last century. His work gives off cubism, futurism and expressionism in compositions that do not lose their contemporary component and their will to play the spectator wrong.
The choice of this aesthetics obeys to the reading that the artist wants to generate in his work. Under a confused and fragmented appearance, underlies a recurrent theme that forces us to rethink his painting every time we look at it. As a voyeur, we faced distorted scenes, either because of the cut-offs of a collage based on photographs or because of the repeated-pattern we can sense in pieces that seem to reproduce the optical alterations of the trick mirrors... The panorama takes us to want to understand what we see because, even when the element is easily recognisable, its truth shies away hidden behind a face without features, a silhouette that resembles a human figure or the broken pieces of a body reflected in the glass.
