When approaching the work of Oriol Jolonch, our mind builds bridges with our inner self that feeds on personal and projected references and experiences. Any of the scenarios offered by this author transports us to an alternative reality, a parallel sphere where imagination and surrealism reign. The objects are distorted, the proportions are exaggerated, the plausible is in question... The interest of this artist to recreate invented worlds has been with him since the beginning of his career. In one way or another, his pieces are open to reinterpretation and seek to establish connections between the real and the fictitious, without lack of humour, illusion and fantasy.
This artist passionate about photography has exploited the possibilities of the digital means to unleash his own utopias. As if they were pictures of a fairy tale or images of an old album rescued from an antique warehouse, Oriol's compositions convey at the same time daydream-and-melancholy style, and allow the double game of involving the viewer and making him part of his imaginary world.
