Ángela Mena holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Seville, specializing in painting. She broadened her studies in Florence, Italy, in the field of sculpture, and at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule, University of Kiel, Germany. She has been an artist-in-residence at Atelier an der Donau in Vienna, Austria, and at the Lab of Experimental Art in Madrid. She is a member of the HUM337 research group at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Seville.
Her work is part of important public and private collections, including the Ella Fontanals Cisneros Collection (CIFO), Studiolo —the collection of Candela Álvarez Soldevilla—, the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo (CAC Málaga), and the Valentín de Madariaga Foundation. She has received several awards, among them the First Prize of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Santa Isabel de Hungría (Seville).
She has held numerous solo and group exhibitions internationally.
