Art Madrid'26 – José Macías – Gran diluvio turquesa (2025)

about José Macías
Cáceres, 1963
In his work, José Macías (Cáceres, 1963) does not seek to create a copy of reality. On the contrary, his aim is to represent a parallel reflection where landscapes are evoked, intuited, or grasped from the fragility of a memory or a moment. It is a kind of emotional flash in which memory recovers a landscape like a dream, like a spark triggered by a faint trace of memory that drifts through our mind and sometimes seeks to come alive again. That is why they do not resemble reality, nor do they need to.
