about Koldobika Jauregi

Alzika (Gipuzkoa), 1959

Koldobika Jauregi is interested in sculpture in a self-taught way in 1978. Later, he travels to Bulgaria and Carrara (Italy), with a scholarship from the Guipúzcoa Provincial Council to work the marble. In the 90s he received the Zabalaga scholarship from Eduardo Chillida and after different exhibitions he moved to Düsseldorf for five years, where he lives as a guest artist at the Museum Insel Hombroich, in an experimental project entitled "Art and nature", in which he lives with others German artists and musicians, and where he is introduced in the study of Eastern philosophies. His works are in different collections such as the Guggenheim in Bilbao, the IKB Deutsche Industriebank in Düsseldorf, at the Würth Museum, Künzeslau (Germany), and different public locations throughout Europe.
