about Léo Caillard

París, (Francia), 1985

Léo Caillard, born in 1985, lives and works in Paris. After graduating from the Ecole des Gobelins in 2008, he studied art history and practiced photography, initially with an interest in 3D and new media. Since his debut in 2009, he has been questioning our relationship with time and how we place our contemporary era at the heart of history. Léo Caillard revolutionizes the classical statuary and plays with our relationship with time. Passionate about the sciences and in particular the notion of time, he decided to express himself through an artistic career: "My eyes have always tried to observe the world to discover its meaning and its codes. I thought that a methodical understanding through science would provide the answers, but the artistic and conceptual aspect has ended up imposing itself".
