Art Madrid'26 – Arol – A matter of balance (2025)

about Arol
Buenos Aires, 1974
Born in 1974 in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Surrounded by pencils and Legos, he knew from an early age that creativity was as essential to him as breathing. As a teenager, surrounded by vinyl records and guitars, he began studying graphic design and, after graduating in 1996, took his first steps in advertising agencies in his hometown, eventually founding his own visual communication studio. In 2003, seeking new challenges, he traveled to Spain—where he has lived ever since—and continued his professional path as a freelance graphic designer and art director. Although art had always been one of his great loves since childhood, it was in this country that he had the opportunity to focus more on artistic work, such as illustration, producing pieces for the international editorial field as well as the textile industry. He created Magokoro, his own urban clothing brand, and later designed prints for independent Spanish brands. Despite having experimented with digital art since the 1990s, it was not until 2010 that he decided to take his first steps as an artist, using surrealism as his language and creating his work entirely on a computer. In late 2017, he embraced the wonderful experience of painting traditionally, working primarily with oil on wood, and exhibiting in various galleries, art fairs, and festivals nationally and internationally, with his strongest presence in the Asian market. In 2018, he experimented with customizing Art Toys, creating unique pieces and later a limited-edition sculpture toy, leading him to create his first sculptures in epoxy putty and polymer clay in 2019 and 2020. To date, he has participated in solo exhibitions in Asia, and group shows in galleries in Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, the United States, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, and South Korea, as well as in major art fairs such as Westbund in Shanghai and JingArt in Beijing. His work is currently exhibited and held in private collections across five continents.
