about Carmen Mansilla

Madrid, 1962

Graduated in Design and Illustration from the ESSED School of Design, Carmen Mansilla has been drawn to the classical human figure since childhood. She received artistic training in Florence and in workshops with internationally renowned painters and sculptors such as José Sánchez Carralero, Antonio López, Alex Kanevsky and Vicente Desiderio, among others.

She has participated in national and international solo and group exhibitions, and has been part of the Women Painting Women collective in the United States. Her work has earned awards and numerous honorable mentions in various international competitions. Her paintings can be found in collections such as the MEAM Museum in Barcelona, the Museo del Dibujo Castillo de Larrés, the City Council of Guadalajara, and in private collections in Spain, the United States, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Mexico and Germany. The figures in her works are characterized by distancing themselves from trends, fashions or established beauty standards. At Art Madrid 26 she will present a new project created especially for this edition.
