about Jafet Blanch

Barcelona, 1977

Jafet Blanch studied at Academy of Art in Barcelona and 3D CG Image at Pompeu Fabra University. The lively trajectory of this Barcelona artist has managed to capture the attention of international galleries, private collections and prominent media. His realistic paintings and sculptures evoke a fantastic and paradoxically common universe. His painting of vibrant colours contrasts with the intimate atmosphere that he manages to reproduce based on the classic method of oil painting that was worked in the nineteenth century. His career as a street artist also adds and reveals a contemporary style that lies between fantastic realism and narrative painting.

Blanch addresses the audience with a game of double meanings and seeks in each piece, eloquently, to make the spectator a participant of his channelled: showing deliberately irreverent scenes that the author turns into fantastic snapshots, in fetén moments.
