about Lars Teichmann
Burgstädt, 1980
Lars Teichmann (Germany, 1980) lives and works in Berlin. His works have been exhibited in museums, biennials, galleries and art fairs in numerous European cities. They are part of public and private collections such as the Collezione Euromobil (Falzè di Piave, Italy), the Fondazione Benetton (Treviso, Italy), the Berlinische Galerie (Museum of Contemporary Art, Berlin) and the Sammlung Kunstpalais Erlangen, among others.
Teichmann studied between 2002 and 2008 at the Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste), where he was a student of Daniel Richter and later selected as a Meisterschüler (master pupil) of the renowned artist and professor Valérie Favre, a distinction reserved for students with an outstanding artistic profile. In 2009 he was awarded the International Gruppo Euromobil Under 30 Prize at Arte Fiera Bologna.
His work draws on classical themes and emblematic figures from historicist painting, reinterpreted with strong symbolic depth and a pronounced sense of history. These images, shrouded in mystical anonymity and an aura of mystery, establish a dialogue with collective memory.
