about Maria Yelletisch

Maria Yelletisch graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Barcelona, has a master degree in Art Therapy and in Psychotherapy for art and psychosocial training. Currently based in Madrid, where her studio is located, she is working on different and both personal and commissioned projects.

Through the relationship between her artwork and the viewer, she looks into the nature of the individual memory through the devices that transform the individual memory into the collective one. Her work questions the nature of the objects and its images, and only after the process of questioning, she starts working on the inner layers and structures of the objects, the parts that are protected and hidden. Maria Yelletisch is now working and experimenting on different media: painting, drawing, sculpture, installations, found objects, site specific actions...
