Vacaria, São Paulo, (Brasil), 1961

Marlene Stamm studied painting in Escola Superior de Música e Belas Artes do Paraná, Curitiba, Brasil and lives and works in São Paulo, Brasil.She participated at Bienal Internacional de São Paulo (2018) as a guest artist of Mark Dion in the project “Field Station Ibirapuera Park”. Her main solo exhibitions are: Espelho Labirinto,CCBB Brasilia, (2022), Será que estará sempre lá ? Galeria do Lago, Museu da República, Rio de Janeiro (2022), Formatto Gallery in São Paulo, Brazil (2019), Adhoc Gallery in Vigo, Spain (2015), Solo Projects at Foco Latino América at Arco Madrid (2014), Espaço T in Porto, Portugal (2014). Awarded by Exhibition Programs at Centro Cultural São Paulo (2012). Her main group exhibitons are: STUDIOLO XXI desenhos e afinidades, Fundação Eugênio de Almeida, Évora, Portugal (2019), Memória seletiva, Gallery Aymoré, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2019), Contemporary Art Center de Cincinnati, EUA (2017) Universidade de Musashino, Japão (2015), Museu Nacional do Conjunto da República, Brasilia, Brazil (2014), Sesc Belenzinho, São Paulo (2013) e The dirty and the bad from São Paulo to Svendborg – Kunstbygningen Sak - Svendborg, Dinamarca (2011). The artist works with painting, drawing, engraving, sculpture, and site-specific interventions with a hyper realistic approach. Her observations and her plastic/poetic creations of everyday objects and private spaces provide a salience of affections and relations of memorabilia.
